Located in the surroundings of Montargis (Loiret, 45), 1h20 away from Paris (and 55min by train), the site of La Valette spans over 40 hectares of wooden land. With of a castle, a chapel, and two three-stories dormitories, the complex represents over 10,000-sqm of walls. Abandoned for more 30 years, the site has recently been acquired by a real estate firm, L’Ile aux Pins.
It was at the beginning of 2016 that Urban Art Paris contacted the latter to discuss a rehabilitation project of the site. The goal was clear: first, to provide a unique environment for urban artists to express their creativity; second, to organize a big scale cultural and entertaining event in September 2017.
